Gil Velazquez-Songwriter/Recording Artist
The new EP “Sol Celebration” is here!
It has been 2 years since my last digital EP release, “My World”. Since then I’ve developed a number of songs that I’ve so patiently been waiting to nurture and bring to light. Finally, my new release “Sol Celebration” is ready.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my music. I have been busy composing and recording for my 2017 release to be titled “Sol Celebration“. This 3 song digital only EP will consist of some latin flavors and textures from one of my major influences, Carlos Santana. The 2017 release will be the third in a series of digital EP releases starting with Where do we go from here. In addition, I am also keeping busy writing and recording tracks for film, web, and TV placement.
My 2015 EP release “My World” is available at CD Baby, itunes, and Amazon along with all of my releases since 2008. Below is a direct shop to my music on CD Baby.
Be sure to bookmark gilvelazquez.com and also click “Like” at my Facebook Music Page to stay up-to-date on the status of my ongoing series of digital EP releases.
Don’t forget to check out my music library and of course the studio blog as my way of sharing my trials and tribulations as I prepare my stream of new material. In many ways my goal is to make each release very different than the previous one. Enjoy the music and thank you for visiting.
Music Talk & Stuff
Now that I have positioned my KRK monitors on the Iso Acoustic Stands, I am finding my ear is picking up on low end things that before I wasn’t quite picking up on. A multitude of mixing techniques cloud this new phase for me, but I am finding some common techniques that seem to be […]
Back in November of 2013, I had the honor of taking part with the CD production of “Broad Lights on Broad Street”. This CD contains a plethora of musicians from the New Jersey Shore area ranging from Acoustic to Jam Band Thunder. Please be sure to check out the CD and add it to your […]
Well my old by excellent shaped monitors (KRK V6), are going to migrate from sitting on the Auralex monitor foam base to the IsoAcoustic stands. I will keep you all posted if my mixes are translating even better across the spectrum, especially the low end (20-150Hz). Step 1: Open Box Step 2. Setup configuration 1 […]
Just finished a TV/Web submission for an performance auto opportunity. It took me 4 days to put it together working on it during the evenings. 3 chords basically hold the riff throughout with some key leads and guitar accents. I was striving for some harmonic variation with the rhythm guitar part to create some variety […]
Recently I forwarded 2 preliminary mixes of “Do Ya Thing” and “Urban Calm” to Hopetown Sound Studios for a Mastering review. One of the most toughest challenges is always to get the bottom end in the right spot, especially when you are producing in a small project studio setup. Not sure if the issue may […]
Sometimes a spontaneous action can create an unexpected result. Well, it could always go either way. For me on Monday February 11th, I saw that Taxi TV was looking for some tracks to critique for their UStream Show segment airing live on the 11th titled TAXI TV Mix Critique. I have a few un-mastered tracks […]
Well after turning off my furnace, fluorescent ceiling lights, I began the process of measuring the sonic deficiencies in my room using the ARC2 System by Ik Multimedia. This is driving me nuts. Now I have to take a deep breath and understand what is going on now, when it comes to mixing. I guess […]
