Gil Velazquez-Songwriter/Recording Artist
The new EP “Sol Celebration” is here!
It has been 2 years since my last digital EP release, “My World”. Since then I’ve developed a number of songs that I’ve so patiently been waiting to nurture and bring to light. Finally, my new release “Sol Celebration” is ready.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my music. I have been busy composing and recording for my 2017 release to be titled “Sol Celebration“. This 3 song digital only EP will consist of some latin flavors and textures from one of my major influences, Carlos Santana. The 2017 release will be the third in a series of digital EP releases starting with Where do we go from here. In addition, I am also keeping busy writing and recording tracks for film, web, and TV placement.
My 2015 EP release “My World” is available at CD Baby, itunes, and Amazon along with all of my releases since 2008. Below is a direct shop to my music on CD Baby.

Don’t forget to check out my music library and of course the studio blog as my way of sharing my trials and tribulations as I prepare my stream of new material. In many ways my goal is to make each release very different than the previous one. Enjoy the music and thank you for visiting.
Music Talk & Stuff
I was just going through my session files and I discovered that my first session on the initial track “Urban Calm” was started on Feb 21, 2012. Holy audio files Batman! Well, I was preparing the final tweak for a CD-R Car Stereo Critique along with “Do Ya Thing”, “Where do we go from here” […]
Tonight I had just a little time to try another technique of cleaning up the spectrum in the mix. What I did was add a Blue Cat’s Frequency Analyst on an individual track. The reason was to see and not just hear, where that instrument or voice “lives” on its respective track. Then in most […]
In addition to burning a few CD-Rs to listen to how your mix sounds in an average car stereo environment, there is actually a deeper (no pun intended) advantage to doing this. Acoustic reflections cause a series of peaks and dips throughout the low range of frequencies. Most car stereos suffer from what can be […]
I’m feeling I may be close to calling it a wrap on the track titled “Do Ya Thing”. This song actually was inspired a little bit after listening to some Jack White (White Stripes). A minimalist song, but this will be the shortest on the next cd at approximately 2min. But it wasn’t long before […]
In my first production “My Introduction”, I had used the PodXt amp modeling device for most of my guitar tracking and some double-tracking using a Line 6 amp along with either an SM57 or MD421. What I was curious about is, what would the results be if I tried this with a better interface from […]
I have been honored to be nominated as one of the top instrumentalist at the 2013 JAM Awards. The event is to be held on Sunday April 7th at the Jersey Arts Center in Ocean Grove, NJ.
As I approach the release of my sophomore CD (Title to be determined), it was time to start work on revamping my site. It will be a live site as it grows, so please bookmark it and stop by every once in a while for updates. It’s all about the music and thank you for […]
