Preliminary Review by the Master at Hopetown Sound Studio

Recently I forwarded 2 preliminary mixes of “Do Ya Thing” and “Urban Calm” to Hopetown Sound Studios for a Mastering review. One of the most toughest challenges is always to get the bottom end in the right spot, especially when you are producing in a small project studio setup. Not sure if the issue may be frequency or volume related (that whole bass drum, bass instrument thing). I recently calibrated my monitors using the IK Multimedia ARC 2 system, which has improved my mix qualities, but I am wondering if I should explore an alternate to how my monitors are being isolated from the desk. I am using Aurlex monitor pads or Mo-Pads as they are known. I may consider Iso-Acoustic stands as a possible improvement.

More work ahead for sure.
